Having had a couple of chats with Origin over the last few days about what would be happening to my service post digital region, they have made me an offer, which means in my circumstances, there is no financial benefit to move elsewhere. Assuming this is offered formally when I get details about my migration , I see no reason to move, as it avoids any hassle. Apparently migration will likely take place in second half of July.
Just out of curiousity what package are you on now and what will you be on after you get migrated?
I am currently on Ignition (24/10), which is no longer available. A couple of upgrade options were offered. I think it would be fair to say that if you are moving like for like, you will likely continue paying your current price. Talk to them.
I'm on 24/10 I've not phoned them yet sort of waiting for them to contact me Confused
I'll give it a week or so and phone presuming they haven't rung, did they offer something decent?
When I get "migrated" I will be moving back to stone age ADSL connection. Having looked around I can't see any significant saving to be had by moving and I don't believe I could get significantly better service anywhere else (personal experience). Therefore I will most likely be be staying with Origin unless a new start-up fibre service magically appears like a phoenix from the ashes of DR Big Grin

I would be quiet happy to stay with OB but my only concern is being tied in to a new contract.
I'm still baffled how they have not contacted any of their end users about migrating and the users themselves are having to do all the running.

@rooneybuk - it's guaranteed that you'll be put into another 12 month contract with them.
I did have a moan about that. I think the bottom line is until recently they had no good news to tell anybody and didn't want to frighten people away. However that doesn't excuse them from not emailing everybody with the announcement they put up on the website. They seem to have decided to ring everybody when their individual migration plan is ready. Lots of calls to be made over the next couple of weeks I guess.
I wouldn't even bank on anyone getting calls with Origin or a letter for that matter...they'll probably email everyone and if the end user doesn't get them they'll wash their hands with it.
I think they're waiting as late as possible so that people won't have time to consider other options. If that's the kind of practices they're employing now, I'm glad I'm not along for the ride to find out what other tactics they'll try.
