Hi, i just woke up about 30 mins ago to find i had no internet i think it when down between 7-8 i think... anyway i phoned up i was told to unplug the cables and reconnect. and by god i was shocked with what i seen

in short.. nothing has changed at my end, still on the same network etc.. BUT yet my speed can raised and this wasn't possible before with ripwire WTF? lol
Looks like NOC has been messing again *rolls eyes*
don't get my wrong the download speed is nice!! but the upload speed isn't which am not happy about!
i'll wait untill later to see to if sorts itself out and see what happens then and if not changes i will be ringing up
@aceado,

let me get this straight, you are not happy with a 6mb upload? lol.

Upload isn't something that is directly controlled by Ask4 or the NOC so sometimes it will wildly vary. But also take into consideration the testing server Smile

@mattyatty1 Might be worth co-oping with @jackdinn re using your server for upload testing?
well since i've been with ripwire my upload speed never dropped this much this is why i am unhappy with the upload speed as you can see in the pic that is my avg upload/download speed but as i said i'll see how it goes Confused

upload speed: unhappy
download speed: very happy

i wouldn't mind knowing from @ASK4Support or @jody-ASK4 what has changed to make my speed change so much
We had issues this morning with some of the RiPWiRE accounts that were migrated across in that an automated admin job that ran messed up some RiPWiRE usernames (which has now been fixed) which accounts for your loss of service. This should have had no bearing on your connection speed however.... we've found out that Thales did apparently make some changes to profiles when migrating people which we hadn't asked them to do, it's possible they've been 'tinkering' again however can you raise with support and they'll be able to get a definitive answer for you.

As I mentioned previous, upload isn't something that can be directly controlled by Ask4. It's probably the NOC messing with settings which has probably had an effect on your throughput and upstream too Smile

Not going to push this into anyones head, but throughput isn't guaranteed on any internet service..VDSL is no exception.

Jody,

Have you got any explanation from them (NOC) why they have been altering settings. I can appreciate they want to make everyones service as good as possible, but would be nice for them to communicate that lol.
sure would be nice to know what NOC is doing and would also been nice if they spoke to the person on how they want it tweaking which would be better as am sure some people might like a faster upload and some might want a faster download but who knows..
didn't want to make another thread but is anyone else having problems with the internet speed like its proper slow and some websites are slow/bad ping
