Wink RE: My experience leaving the network
Well new line and plusnet is now connected must say it is much better than the one I had from all the DRL providers ive had over the 3 year or so ive been on the network (chess/lbo & ripwire/ask4) in terms of speed etc and cheaper too Big Grin

below is from the plusnet account page
Quote:Telephone number:
01226xxxxxx
Phone exchange:
BARNSLEY
Estimated line speed:
65Mb (Download speed could vary depending on line conditions. Estimates are the maximum speeds that your phone line can support. These speeds are dependent on the package you choose.) - Checked on 2013-09-20 01:43:34
Current line speed:
78 Mb

RE: My experience leaving the network
Have to agree, my Infinity 2 connection is much, much better than my DR connection.

@tekmobile

Most of the time the Plusnet profile will say 78Mb on FTTC...It's only on ADSL2 services where it fluctuated all over place as it goes off a spreadsheet every day from BT which is about as useful as a c**k flavoured lollypop

lmao real throughput from pfsense traffic graph seems about 71Mb I can sustain downloads of about to 8.5MB/s still better than I had from chess which if I was lucky would sometimes hit 7MB/s mostly was around 6.5MB/s so its all good and cheaper.

RE: My experience leaving the network
I finally got round to load balancing both plusnet and chess I ended up getting a decent speed increase.

I don't understand
I just created a second interface in pfsense, set up a gateway group and added a firewall rule to use the gateway group then tested on speedtest.net and did a quick usenet download.

if you are referring to the JD tester in my sig that's the last graph from when i used it last year and the speeds on there are false because it also counted local lan traffic.

A PC solution or a router solution?

RE: My experience leaving the network
I sorted it, seemed BT had some issues earlier tonight where outside of BT you were only hitting 20Mb but a reboot of router worked.
