There may be some hope yet ?
For the people among us that have to alternative FTTC other than DR !

Sky and Talk Talk team up to rival BT with speeds up to 1GigaBit ... Sheffield could be one of the unnamed cities ?

York is the first city but they are also rolling out in two other, as yet un-named cities.

Not to be negative, but if Sky have got anything to do with it, it's going to be utterly appaling! TalkTalk aren't much better!

Their taking over of O2 Broadband/Be has been a total and utter shambles!

Could be a possibility as CityFibre already have a fair bit of fibre in Sheffield already.

I expect that the Sky/TT partnership will be hunting out some of the BDUK money ? I believe the local councils are now going down this route.
