skys ADSL checker was always under optimistic for my line it always said 5-8 and i got 12.5meg (13.5meg using a belking N1 and DMT tools lol)

so you could have a nice surprise lol

I think the word you are looking for is pessimistic. Tongue

Under optimistic, indeed.

On topic though, my line always reported 3Mbit on BTs checker but I always got 4-5.5Mbit. That was with Be though, with BT DLM it was much closer to 3Mbit thanks to their stupid BRAS profiles. That was before 21CN though, not sure how it works today.

Yes that would be the word I was looking for lol

And I think since the 21cn update things have improved a lot. The people next door to my grandma were on bt still on old standard adsl pre 21cn never bothered to ring up to change it they were getting a sync of about 1.2meg dlm kept it low for some reason. They moved to plus net thinking if this is all where getting might as well save some money. Shot up to over 10meg as they'd been moved onto the more friendly 21cn which I belive is a little more relaxed
