Another Origin Lie?
According to their news they created their forum last year...Did you hell!..According to your index page this evening the install date was 19th May 2014!...If I had the right mind to take a screenshot on my phone I could have embarrassed you even more!...Furthermore you didn't register a domain until a day later...@Chalky, @Mirdragon, don't worry, I'm sure they were referring to this forum Wink ..must have got mixed up somewhere between callbacks and such eh

RE: Another Origin Lie?
@SpencerUK, @Chalky, I can't understand why they would use godaddy and only register for 1 year, even my domain is registered until 2018 (renewed 2013) and even this forum is registered until 2016

RE: Another Origin Lie?
Yeah well, it makes as much sense as registering a domain at all rather than just using a subdomain or even just using a subdirectory on the portal server (its hosted on the same server anyway it seems).

I can only think its down to reducing up-front costs so they do not need a wildcard SSL certificate. I'm surprised they didn't use StartCom to get their SSL certs totally free, but then it is a bit of a PITA as I found out when I did mine recently.

RE: Another Origin Lie?
I seem to recall there being talk of a forum for "the new network" last year.

RE: Another Origin Lie?
Yeah but there were talk of their own DNS servers too and THAT never happened.

One of my favourite Origin boasts:

Quote:Origin Broadband is pleased to announce that we have acquired the customer base from Digital Region Broadband South Yorkshire limited. Our firm strategy concerning the migration of our own customer base made us the top choice to ensure minimal disruption to these valuable business connections.

I would have thought having a plan and communicating it clearly to your customers would be a mandatory part of any firm strategy.

I'm also seeing anything but of minimal disruption.

Quote: The Tech Team
We feel this is where we shine. While ‘turn it off and back on again’ does tend to solve a lot of problems, we definitely don’t stop there! If you have a non-standard router, or your smart TV needs special settings or your Wi-Fi won’t make it through your 8 foot thick walls, our tech support staff will do everything we can to find a solution! Origin support is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year!

Thats IF they call you back.

Origin’s Network Operations Centre works around the clock to monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues across Origin’s growing network. Our network specialists will receive an alert as soon as any network issue is identified by our systems and deal with this before a single customer is affected.

Wasn't it only the other week when there was a large outage right across the region..I was affected as I know many others was and couldn't get through to support so ended up calling sales who said all support staff were busy and ....you guessed it.....someone will call you back.
