No work will be required, they'll automatically offer them. Sky already have kit in all the exchanges anyway (for their LLU) to handle their backhaul from the FTTC GEA handoff. There's going to be nothing special or different about how it's all implemented.

Leased Lines - You know you want one! Smile

Stimulate demand amongst households and businesses to take up fibre.

"It is expected that this demand stimulation work will be delivered jointly by the Programme Team and BT."

One of the things DR failed at.

What a complete joke of a situation it is. We are now having to find funding to bribe BT in to improving the service on what must be a rediculously profitable exchange.

Capitalism is a joke.

Capitalism IS a joke, because if the exchange is hugely profitable with businesses on older more expensive technologies then of course they aren't going to roll out a cheaper alternative.

This is why private companies owning important infrastructure is a terrible thing, its not in their best interest to give you the latest technologies at the cheapest prices. Still, at least we aren't as bad as the US ....... yet.

Yes, it was called Digital Region. :sigh:

BT's successful tender should mean that 97.9% of South Yorkshire will have access to superfast broadband by the end of 2017.

Also, Sheffield Council is working a project specifically for the city centre as it could be left behind...

Hmm, I wouldn't put it past BT, to keep kicking the activation of my exchange down the road.. and lumping it in with the BDUK work. Meaning they don't have to pay for the work they've already carried out..
