RE: Plex Server
Old thread, but I use Plex on an Ubuntu server - Though, it's pretty useless now apart from within the house, as I'm on ADSL

RE: Plex Server
Anyone streaming Plex to a Roku unit
I've noticed that it is not showing any posters for movies, etc or playing the background music - but if stream to my Chromecast or other device I get these without any problems

RE: Plex Server
I've pre ordered an amazon tv to replace the RPi I have. What peaked my interest is the Ethernet port, so I don't need to rely on wireless a la chrome cast/now tv/etc.
Hopefully plex will play pretty well, as the box seems to have a fair amount of oompf. |

RE: Plex Server
I'm happy with the WDTV Live, plays straight off NFS or Samba/Windows shares with no BS. I have even played DVD and Bluray ISOs directly although Bluray can struggle due to the insane bitrate.
There's only one reason to use an Apple TV IMO, if you have bought DRM videos off iTunes, which I never do for the very reason they aren't portable between different manufacturers devices. |
