Refunds
I have been trying in vain to get a refund from Origin for the period from 14th August to 30th September. Nothing is forthcoming.
I have emailed and phoned. Told by Liam in an email on 29th August that he had requested my refund be made. Nothing happened. Phone calls have got me nowhere either. I was told by Daniel yesterday that some customers have already received refunds. I'm not sure I believe this. Has anyone on here had a refund yet? I should point out that I am no longer an Origin customer so I assume I'm low priority.
The operator of the Origin Twitter account has today told me that he has 'personally added me to the refund list'. I assume therefore I wasn't on the list previously. He also stated he cannot tell me when the refund will be made. He made the usual excuses about workload etc.
The only explanation I can think of for why they are not processing refunds is that they are no longer financially solvent.... I hope they'll prove otherwise.

RE: Refunds
I've asked them 3 times to request my refund. Only to be told that they are working on it and that all refunds should be done by the end of September.

I don't see how hard it can be, why should it take so long? But then again, this is Origin we are talking about, customer service went out the window ages ago Sad

RE: Refunds
I've not really had chance to check, but after my pror documented battle over this, I can confirm that the half month has been refunded.

However, the full month of September has not been, so 1/3rd of the way there.

It does however mean Origin have a 100% record of not following through on the actions promised.

RE: Refunds
BINGO! My refund has been done and it's in my account and everything!! They actually followed up on the tweet and email i sent (well, the 6th email), and also phoned me (although it is 20:45, so I didn't answer it).

Anyway - jobs done with Origin - just need PlusNet to activate my line next Wednesday (which, coincidentally is my birthday!)

RE: Refunds
Hi, I've also had no Internet from Origin since the 15th of August. After being told several times by different reps over the phone that I could buy anything to cover my Internet supply until my live date and would be refunded entirely, I've been getting by with an offer from EE for a PAYG sim with 10GB of data for £15. That offer has now ended, so I'll have to find another way to get mobile Internet without a contract since my live date isn't until the 7th of October.

I was waiting until I'd paid for any sims and such because of the DR shutdown before contacting Origin regarding a refund. Then I was told by the same rep that called me to inform me of my live date, that there is a maximum limit on refunds that is capped at £25. I've already spent £60 on two of these sims and a dongle to use them with and I'm not sure where to get any more data from for the next two weeks. I received an email shortly after the phone call asking for my EE receipt for the dongle specifically. I sent them a photo of my three receipts and was told once again that I can only get £25 back.

I wouldn't have bought all these sims and expected anything back had I not been explicitly told I could get a refund. It's Origin's fault I'm still without Internet and now they expect me to pay insane amounts of money for meagre amounts of data that they said they would pay for. Is there any way I can take this further? I emailed the rep back asking them for the contact info on the refund limit but they've conveniently not responded. I just want to know what to say when I phone up and if I even have a leg to stand on. Rolleyes

Thanks!

RE: Refunds
If you have times and dates of the calls, contact their dispute resolution people, Origin record all calls so it can be proved one way or another.

RE: Refunds
I just can't get my head round why people are still staying with Origin. They have been possibly the worst company I've known over the last few months, lies after lies after lies and people are still willing to stay with them.

Am I missing something? They weren't competitive, they did jack shit about the network closing and nobody had Internet the day or even week after the close. They make empty promises, they use facefuck and twatter as the only way of communicating to people and then censor it!

Get rid of them, get a deal on quidco

I held that in as long as I could, 6 weeks, better than I thought I could lol
