RE: DR Cabinet gone
My local DRL cabinet is still there but has now been powered down, so I guess not long till it's gone. And then the fibre gets turned over to O2, great deal Sheffield Council!!!

Or FTTP? (yeah right) It does seem odd. |

RE: DR Cabinet gone
the DR cabinet which is on the junction to Strafford walk connects to the PCP on Strafford walk - this PCP connects to the BT FTTC a few more yards down the run on a corner.
The two new cabinets installed are further up the road and if you notice they are ducted to in front of the DR cabinet and across the road. Over the road this is the access ducting below the telegraph pole but it just seems odd they have installed these when there has been no increase in residents within the area - the DR cabinet when I left had less that 50 users (based on the information I was given by Ripwire at the time) I wonder if they are actually going to disconnect the original cabinets and put everyone on these - but I've noticed I've had a drop in speed since these have gone in and averaging between 67-69 compared to the usual 73-75

RE: DR Cabinet gone
Well, my cabinet is not long for this world. Some work has taken place on it, I think it's guts have been ripped out. It's now taped around with white tape, for some unknown reason. I expect it to be gone very shortly.
RIP. |
