For people like me, on 5Mbps, I would sign up for fibre tomorrow if available (although probably on a 40ish Mb pacakge). I guess it's a sliding scale.

Unless I've misread that you seem to be referring to FTTC (Cabinet), it's FTTP (Premises) I don't think is going to take off yet.

Incidentally good point about locality to the Exchange btw - I sometimes forget that, being so far away I only got between 800-1200kbps on ADSL2+, so the jump up to fiber made a huge difference, if I could get upwards of 20mbps on ADSL2+ I'd probably still be on it!

I'd agree with that @beermat. Heck - if I'd had even 10Mbps I might not have jumped. Dropping back down to <2Mbps is a real pain Sad
