It seems you can get unlocked firmware here: http://ftp.ftp.zyxel.com/P-2812HNUL-F1/ - I'm not sure if there is an easy method for applying the new firmware though.

obtaining the Firmware isnt the problem. installing it is because LBO have locked the modem so you dont have the option to update it. there must be a way round it

i can just about connect to it via the UART port and putty but tbf am dosy on the matter and ive no idea how you'd upload firmware via UART haha, anyone know any bruit force programs that would work in this case lol just a case of finding LBO's admin password for the routers then wed have access to the firmware upload page

Ive just checked and the firmware on it is the latest 3.11 but even doing the reset is not changing the admin password back to default. Anyone have any ideas? so this rules out LBO using a custom firmware?

RE: Modem/router
On some Zyxel products there is a way to update the firmware by powering on while holding reset and then using tftp to transfer certain files over to the device. But I have no idea if that works on your router.

LBO do defo use custom firmware they've told me this, they will of over wrote the flash chip via uart so even if you reset it will over write with their Custom firmware dam shame too coz with the default firmware it would of been a very good router. with LBOs limited access its a bit crabby lol, Im no longer with them but still have the router so i would love to find a way to get the default firmware on lol the built in sip functions that LBO block out would be worth unlocking it for me.

RE: Modem/router
I'm surprised they do not ask for the routers back.

BE did when I left them and they don't even use the model I had anymore.

There supposed to ask for em back but saying that I still have my cell pipe from when I was with RiPWiRE/ask4 an I think I left them 6 month ago I never got any communication as to return it an never got charged so keeping it as a spare in case the open reach modem fails one day
