yeh 59 days Smile- when I was on DR I rarely got past 7 days if I was lucky

The 59 days is only because of some maintenance work and me moving stuff about

And the gui interface is still fine and not showing any lag when accessing it

RE: New line cards ?????
My cellpipe and mikrotik uptime are currently on 107 days, PPPoE session has dropped once since the service was installed and that was down to some planned maintenance.

Can't complain at that!

RE: New line cards ?????
My PPP connection still drops every week or two it seems, not really worrying about it unless it becomes more frequent.

It will be interesting to see if the new HG612 firmware makes any difference there, as its hard to know if its being dropped due to something on Digital Region or due to delays in passing traffic over the DSL link. One thing is for sure, its nothing to do with a resync as that rarely happens, one of these days I will get the stats graphed for DSL uptime.

I have noticed however that the HG612 web UI can be really slow at times, so I do wonder if its a rogue process on there lagging the connection and that could easily be the same on some of the Cellpipes with them being the same hardware so likely the same core software stack too. There is no telling if all the Cellpipes have the same firmware or not, it depends if Thales push out updates via provisioning or just leave them alone.

RE: New line cards ?????
I will be very pleased if the new modem driver has fixed the PPPoE dropping.

RE: New line cards ?????
I can't see the PPPoE dropping a cause of the HG612 as I'm running the hacked firmware on my device and granted on different network, but if it was a cause of the firmware surely I would get the drops as well - this has to be an issue on the network somewhere

RE: New line cards ?????
Good point, although it could be an incompatibility between the modem driver used on the Cellpipe/HG612 and the line cards Digital Region were using in the cabinets. After all, we now know they were not as capable as they were supposed to be. There is really no telling what a newer modem driver might do.

I guess we won't know for sure seeing as I didn't give the old firmware enough time to see if the line card switch alone made any difference.

RE: New line cards ?????
Can't really see any difference on mine:

[Image: 008c7eb6b078544ad64144d3c7b76675-05-04-2013.png]

However real-world performance is VERY different.

For example if I did a traceroute before it would take a few seconds, now the same traceroute is instant.

Of course it could be something else on the Internet that has changed, but its quite the coincidence if it is.
