RE: Line Cards
@origin_pete I am looking to move to DCN006 Cusworth Lane and wondered if the line card had been replaced to give what ever the line can handle?

if it can then a big bonus to moving, if it cant then Virgin media are in the area and BT infinity!

Also are there any costs associated with moving? i assume not as you can move with any other company and there are no install costs

thanks

RE: Line Cards
I'd expect that moving service won't be possible due to no new orders being taken.

Edit: Unless you can be moved over to a BT based service.

RE: Line Cards
well ive learned something new, you cannot take a service with you if you move address. you have to pay up the balance for the remaining contract or get the person who is moving into the new house to take over the contract. you do the math, 12 months left of current contract and im on the max package!

they are looking into an offer if i was to stay with them and take the service at the new address but likely to cost hundreds still.

i dont remember reading anywhere that you cannot take a service with you, when you are renting a house i think that is important to be told

RE: Line Cards
So what if they can't provide the service at your new address?

RE: Line Cards
So basically if you move you can't take your DR connection with you?

I basically asked this question via email to Origin, and didn't really get a straight answer. I got told there was no fibre service at my new postcode (despite being 400m from a DRL cab) and that the checker indicated a 34Mbs connection.
But happily if I took up the ADSL2+ with Origin when I move (which due to distance from the exchange would utterly suck) I can wait for BT to install fibre in the area and then they'll provide me with fibre Sad
