RE: Future of DRLforum
For the the time being, everything for me is business as usual on the board. Might just be renamed to South Yorkshire Broadband or something, just dunno yet.

RE: Future of DRLforum
Ok everyone,

I've been putting this thought off for a while because it's not been vitally important but we all need to decide what we want to do with this forum.

The domain I think expires in February next year and with Digital Region going by the wayside I'd like everyones feedback on what they want to happen on this forum.

I'm more than happy to renew the domain, transfer ownership to someone else etc as I'm sure @Chalky who runs the server is probably more than happy to continue to host as we don't exactly murder his server with bandwidth lol.

The community is what made this forum evolve from a sub domain on a shared hosting plan onto its own dedicated site and a forum software change so I leave it to the people who use the forum on what they want to do with it.

Forum post is yours now for your input.

Just to confirm, I'll be more than happy to continue hosting the forum for free Smile

I'd definitely like the forum to continue but in what guise, I don't know. I find the topics of interest and we discuss matters beyond DRL that are important and interesting.

I guess we wait and see what the future holds before considering a name change, drlorphans.co.uk?

Not really a need, just considering every possible option.

Did I say Broadband? I meant Insane Asylum Community Outreach Programme.

RE: Future of DRLforum
Seems sensible. I think the problem the forum will have is it that it wont really have a raison d'etre without DR (unless another regional network is the up-shot of all this - unlikely I think it's fair to say).

SY's broadband will be just the same as the national things discussed elsewhere (Think Broadband, Cable Forum etc.).

I'm not saying it's a non-starter, but I can't personally see a way that we wont run out of steam.
