DRL Sale of Assets
I don't think anyone else has mentioned this from the Digital Region website, looks like it's been there a while:
Quote:Notice is hereby given by the Board of Digital Region Limited of the sale of the primary assets, in whole or in lots, with or without the customers of the business, including the following: So there's the figure that has been with-held all this time. 3367 end points, meaning on average less than 3 connections per cabinet. It's probably a deal less than that if you discount any leased lines from the list of end points. I wonder if we can find out any further information of how deliberations (if any) are going on.

RE: DRL Sale of Assets
I seem to recall it was mentioned before as we discussed if 3367 end points does actually mean customers or not. It sounds like it does, but then why not refer to them as such?

RE: DRL Sale of Assets
I guess because one customer could have more than one endpoint. I'm thinking the council for example, or schools; Maybe all the schools come under one 'customer' but are several 'end points'

RE: DRL Sale of Assets
I was thinking the opposite, because Origin strongly implied that there must be considerably more "customers" than 3000 based on their own customer base. But I can see how that would work.

RE: DRL Sale of Assets
Interesting. Not sure how this will pan out for the consumer, this company seems to be business oriented more than customer. Maybe they will just buy up the fibre and tell everyone else to get stuffed? Will they become a wholesaler like BT Wholesale?
Only time will tell ! Unless Origin know any more of course.. |

RE: DRL Sale of Assets
Surely a company being business orientated is a good thing. Lack of business is what caused DR Ltd to close down in the first place.

Does anyone have a Times account so we can read more?
