Proposed All In One VDSL Solution
Why don't ISP's ship this as their Modem/Router?

Thinking about using that instead of a Home Hub 5 and then Moving my Dark Knight router and making it a Switch...a very powerful one haha

Price lol they just wanna give you some cheap crap that "works" no matter how poorly even though most users that have problems are usually down to the cheap crap.

RE: Proposed All In One VDSL Solution
Alright, I'll bite.

So, since moving to ADSL 4 years ago (always been on cable up to then; not been available since) I've been with Plusnet, O2, Sky and now Plusnet again. Each time I've used the router they've given me - and the only one which was an issue was the O2 ("wireless box iv") which constantly lost sync and made FTP basically unusable.

My connection is crap. I've done all I can in terms of i-plates, using really short cables etc - and that's helped in terms of stability and slightly increased speeds - but I'm still maxing out at 5.5Mbps. That figure was about the same on Sky, but Sky felt slightly faster - most notably Skype is an ass.

What would you recommend as a decent router to make the most of my connection?

Unfortnately @WillPS it's mainly trial and error when it comes to which has the best compatibility with lines...Is there still no FTTx around you?
