Transend vs Sandisk
Looking at getting new memory card for my camera (Sony SLT-A58K) - it currently has a Sandisk Extreme 16GB SDHC Class 10 UHS 1 (45MB/s)
Looking at the Transcend 64GB Ultimate SDXC Class 10 UHS-I 600x Memory Card (£28) against the SanDisk SDSDX-064G-X46 64 GB Extreme HD Video SDXC UHS-I Card (£42) Now the 32GB versions are £16 (Transend) and £20 (Sandisk) The Transends can perform upto 90MB/s while the Sandisks are 45MB/s Now I know @SpencerUK does a lot of photography so hopefully he can recommend, but is there much need to go above 32GB Also if I use my LG G3 for the camera remote it will save the photos direct to my mobile

RE: Transend vs Sandisk
I always got for Sandisk Extreme, my 8GB (60MB/s) CF cards (For my 7D) are all Sandisk, my 32GB SD (80MB/s) for 5D MKIII are Sandisk (paired with 8GB Sandisk CF for my JPEGs). I've shot over 15,000 images in the last 12 months alone, not missed a beat.

RE: Transend vs Sandisk
I've never really used Transcend but for the price difference I'd give it a try. I've used SanDisk, Lexar, Samsung, random no-name brands and I don't think I've ever had a SD Card fail.
I don't think there's much you can get wrong with Flash Memory these days and at the end of the day it's probably all made in the same slave driven factory in China anyway.

RE: Transend vs Sandisk
I've never personally used Transcend but as @Chalky says, they all essentially come from the same place these days. Sure some are slightly different but half of they come with lifetime warranties anyway these days.
I have a Sandisk Extreme but barely use it. Regards

RE: Transend vs Sandisk
The only ones I have really had problems with have been Kingston as they seem to be super slow.
That said, I always prefer Sandisk or Samsung if possible. |
