Forum Performance Issues
Hi everyone,
We're probably going to expect forum slowness for about a week or so. With Digital Region connections being severed I expect an increased amount of traffic from visitors to maybe (hopefully) some new members. I mentioned to @Chalky tonight about the forum issues and he believes it could well be outside influences affecting performance. Some events have come at the same time news is broken or us being mentioned. Mobile performance seems to be unaffected (somehow) at the moment so that option is always there for members who will be cut off from the network tonight. Regards

RE: Forum Performance Issues
There were only 15 people on the forum earlier but it was taking 15-30 seconds to load pages. That is rather worrying as I wouldn't expect performance issues from such a low number.

RE: Forum Performance Issues
Probably being caused by a sneaky DDOS attack originating in the new Origin network

RE: Forum Performance Issues
I'm working on this (whilst at work) with the Hosting company. I have infact being badgering them to acknowledge the issue for 2 months now!
Doesn't help that we've got a higher than usual number of users and guests, obviously there's good reason why there's more people!

RE: Forum Performance Issues
OK, so I'm getting the run around with the Hosting company because they're refusing to acknowledge there's an issue and it's only our server that's having an issue. They want me to migrate to another so I've said that if that's what they think the issue is, they can do the migration.
I've told them to do this as late as possible but do expect some downtime I'm afraid guys. I know it comes at the worst possible time but my hands are tied I'm afraid. I'm not even in the slightest convinced that this will even fix the problem!

RE: Forum Performance Issues
Do we have any indication as to when it's going to take place?.
This is a nightmare week isn't it! Regards

RE: Forum Performance Issues
Migration is due to start at 11pm. DNS TTL has already been lowered so we'll see.
