The point is that Digital Region "theoretically" is supposed to be better than Openreach fibre. (or so they claim)
Its meant to be managed so there is no contention, at least on IPTV and VoIP services, but potentially on the Internet too. Although this doesn't mean there is no contention at your ISP - just the link across the fibre to your ISP shouldn't have any.

The problem is that due to poor management, it certainly doesn't come across that way when there is a problem.

Its also a hard sell to residential customers, especially when it comes to ISPs which have fair usage quotas or traffic management. Its why Origin make such a big deal about not having those things and why I never considered LBO very competitive on the network, as they are appear to be offering a service more comparable to what you get on BT but at a higher cost.

Just a update the speeds getting worse now we had a 5 minute power cut when the modem re-synced itsn ot at 10meg this is getting quite frustrating now im 1meg less than I had with ADSL difference is was paying 7.50 for ADSL :/

Except with an SNR margin of 6dB that is EXACTLY what you would expect if your line is running at maximum sync.

My own line starts dropping PPPoE a bit too often once the upstream SNR drops below that.
