**URGENT UPDATE**
A number of customers have been affected by a severe power outage that's mainly affected Rotherham and Barnsley services.
Northern power are working on this now, and are hoping to resolve the issue soon. Thanks!! |

RE: **URGENT UPDATE**
My ASK4 connection was down between 1:00pm and 2:30. I wonder if this was related? Although it was strange that it was exactly these times.

RE: **URGENT UPDATE**
It sounds like it was a whole Digital Region issue hence why Pete posted it in the general forum rather than just the Origin one.

RE: **URGENT UPDATE**
Then you're not on an affected cab.

RE: **URGENT UPDATE**
You mean they didn't think to put UPS systems in the cabs when they built this network... bloody cheapskates!

RE: **URGENT UPDATE**
Jumping to conclusions a bit.
With it seemingly a big outage, what makes you think there aren't bigger issues that would prevent battery backup from fully resolving the problem? Or the post might only have been made once the UPS already lost power as we do not know when the problem started. |

RE: **URGENT UPDATE**
Whoa there Nelly.. my comment was made with tongue firmly in cheek..
However, the observation still stands; and I do know when the problem started because I was affected (as can be seen from my graph at the minute)... not that it particularly mattered to me because I had no power at home either. However it's not a very robust design for companies that do invest to 'keeping work going' even though the power goes down (either through battery backups or standby generators). If they rely on this network they're going to be out of action while the power is down. It might have been a 'big' outage in terms of area... but it wasn't a particularly long outage. |
