RE: Digital Region to close
From what I can gather, the ISPs have only just even made aware also so I guess we just need to wait for them to update us as to what the process for moving is going to be.

No doubt a lot of people are going to be running around like headless chickens thinking their service is going to be turned off and then be left without service!

I must say that I'll be sad to see my DR service go, it's been spot on since I've had it installed.

RE: Digital Region to close
I would kindly ask that users do not pressurise the ISP's that are on the network for info. When information is readily present, I'm sure they will come forth.

I can pretty much 100% say that nobody will be left out in the cold re service...Let's just see how it goes eh Smile

On the flipside..lets make a kickstarter to take it on ourselves *jokes*

RE: Digital Region to close
Closing the network down makes zero sense, they would be better off selling it on the cheap than just turning it off. All the ducting, fibre, cabinets are in place. It just needs a competant business to run it. And it's going to be really harsh on those who don't have BT cabinets installed in their area yet. Lets hope they can sort out a deal to keep the likes of Origin running.

Hi All,

Please find our press release on

Also we are on Look North tonight at 6:30pm.

The main point to take away is your service will continue, we are the largest provider and we already had plans in place.

RE: Digital Region to close
Assuming that it doesn't take an age to get a line switched over, I would expect that DR users would be courted by prospective ISPs. At least now I'll be able to get my line running at faster than ASK4 could provide.

It's @alexatkin I feel sorry for - he's going to have a speed drop on his ~100mbit line Smile

I'm on ASK4, and I don't think they have another BB product for me - so when things settle down I would be interested in what you are offering going forward as I'll be needing a new ISP soon.

RE: Digital Region to close
Oh crap! I go on holiday and it all goes to pot. I'm very surprised about them not at least selling it off really cheap and the post on the Digital Region site seems very final.

I don't know how they're going to help me transition when FTTC isn't even finished in Conisbrough yet!
