Ok strange one this and hoping someone can help
My brother lives in Dore and is connected to the beuchief exchange
On checking if he can get fibre from BT all the addresses on the street show up but not his but his address shows on sky's checker.

Anyone know why this is occurring he did say that his line was/is with sky but I didn't think this would stop him ordering a BT product.

As I said all his neighbours are showing as able to receive fibre.

Incidentally Sam knows shows as being able to receive fibre etc

Any and all help appreciated

Well, my current deals are due to end with BT and on ringing them they can't offer me anything better to stay with them - only deal they could offer was same as I'm on but for only 1 month as they putting the prices up

So deciding whether or not to move to another provider for everything

Looking at the deals and PN have some good ones and works out cheaper than BT plus can use own router

Sky still looking into this but their Fibre package is more expensive and you need to use their own router (anyone tried using a non-sky router on sky)

So anyone have any issues with either Sky or PN - did have PN years ago before Fibre and had no major issues with them - not sure if would need brand new account as still got my old F9 email address

Have Sky TV and no problems with it, but never had their phone line or internet service

Got an install date, lovely gentleman came, hooked us up at cabinet, only to find that the port was faulty, waited another week for port to be fixed, then another engineer came to connect us. Nothing. 3 1/2 hours later as lots of phone calls the gentleman couldn't do anything, fibre was coming through on the line test, but not to my home hub, tried 3 other home hub 5s and 2 home hub 4s ad nothing. He replaced the face plate on the socket, even tried 2 filter sockets. Nothing. He said we needed another engineer because fibre is coming through but it must be really weak that it's not connecting to the hub, so another engineer with more sophisticated equiptment needs to check the line.
So yesterday another engineer came, checked the line and said it was all fine an had no idea why it wasn't working.
Anyone have any ideas, because clearly the engineers don't

Not sure if this is due to the new router or not, but I am happy!
Would it be the full (£15.75 * 6)+(£9.99 * 6)? Asking because that EE offer in the MSE email is mighty tempting, but obviously if the charges for leaving Plusnet are much more than £100 it's not worth doing.
Now forgive me for thinking that's not really very useful for people having connectivity issues, especially when they hide how you actually submit any information to them behind several links. The best bit though - we can expect to wait 37 hours for a reply! So much for someone taking ownership of support issues!

Here is another query about my recent fibre installation...

My BT master socket is in my hallway but I've never had my fibre modem/router connected to it because there isn't a power socket in the near vicinity. Instead, I've got a phone socket in another room that is connected to the master socket via a thin cable running under the carpet. I've done tests in the past and there doesn't appear to be any loss of Internet speed when my kit is using this extension socket.

I told the engineer this over the phone and he has fitted the Openreach Mk2 faceplate to the non-master socket. He's also removed the ADSL filter from the master socket where I have a basic telephone located.
I've just noticed that now, when the telephone is answered, my Internet connection drops! I put another ADSL filter on the master socket and it seems to have fixed this problem.

Does anyone have any comments or suggestions about this please? Has the engineer screwed up?

Yeah, he didn't understand, fair enough. There is nothing else they can do at this point anyway so I let it lie.

Morning 19th August:
Zen ADSL line migration is completed without issue. Spend the rest of the day fighting with my router and HG612 to get them to work together properly in this configuration.

14:37 20th August:
Rang to ask when I could place the fibre regrade order and was informed the system had not confirmed I was migrated yet so they would chase this up with BT and should have it confirmed later today when I will be able to place the order.

16:15 20th August:
Received e-mail confirming my ADSL order was completed. I didn't notice this e-mail until after the call back however.

16:35 20th August:
Unexpectedly called back by Zen saying it was all confirmed and they could now place the regrade order, was that okay?

Was asked to confirm I had a compatible router for the service, confirmed BT would provide a modem (I asked to be sure) so I just need an ethernet compatible unit.

16:45 20th August:
Received e-mail confirmation of order.

19:45 20th August:
Received e-mail confirming engineer booked to provide regrade to fibre on 10th September, some time between 8am and 1pm.

12:45 21st August:
Ah Openreach, you bloody fools.

Quote:I am emailing regarding the order ADSL to Zen Fibre Regrade

The order has been rejected by our suppliers, when we have investigated why it seems there is an open order associated to the line.

We believe this order to possibly be the ADSL order we supplied to you which completed on 19/08. We have raised a request with our suppliers to have this investigated to find out if indeed that is the issue

We would expect the request raised to take anything up to 5 working days or more to resolve

We shall review your order again next Tuesday to check for a response, once we do have further updates we shall be in touch to advise

Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused

Ordered my migration from Origin to Zen, given a provisional date of 14th August.

15:35 5th August:
Received e-mail confirmation of order.

16:17 5th August:
Received e-mail from billing confirming the first payment I made on the phone.

18:50 7th August:
Received e-mail containing my login details and block of static IP addresses.

20:20 7th August:
Received e-mail confirming my migration will happen on the 19th (bummer). I e-mailed them back asking if this can possibly be brought forward.

21:42 8th August:

Quote:Thanks for the email.

The order is going through as a Migration from another provider so the service with them should run until the date that we take over the service. Has the losing provider advised they will be terminating the connection on this date?

They should be fully aware that we will be taking over the connection on the 19th.

I tried to explain that the network is actually being shut down on the 14th.

I have been with AAISP for 10 days now..

I started on 20CN so they could monitor my line, today they migrated me over to Talk Talk..
The downtime was hardly noticeable, they sent me a text to say my line was down an by the time I had turned my pc on I was back online.
Their support is spot on and very knowledgeable.
I gave them my supplied MAC code, told them it was an SLU migration and had to be entered manually(thanks for the info about that supplied on here guys). It was then effortless.

Yes its not cheap and if you are a big downloader the cost can rack up but if you want an isp that is totally on the ball then you will be hard pressed to find better.
You have a full online portal where you can see stats, your usage and billing etc.
If only all isps were like this..
