Quote:in regards to the service status - my idea is to have a section on the forum called service status which can be updated regularly and members link to the RSS of the site - this can then be picked up on your mobile quite easily by an rss reader app
with this idea might be good to have 1 main section for digital region itself (network) and subsections for the isp's ? also rss sounds great as its nice and simple yet to the point !!

@jody-ASK4 i had another look at my router logs and this is what i've found just another note i went to bed that night at 1:20am and it didn't work so am not sure what was wrong Confused(on a sidenote its rare for connection to be disconnected,moved,unpluged etc.. or anything unless im told other wise )

Code:
Mar 29 00:53:51    PPP     INFO     sent [LCP Ack auth=chap-MD5 mru=1480 magic=0xxxxxxxxx]
Mar 29 00:53:51    PPP     INFO     rcvd [CHAP Challenge (xxxxxxxx), name = "ac4.dr.ask4.net"]
Mar 29 00:53:51    PPP     INFO     rcvd [CHAP Success "Welcome."]
Mar 29 00:53:51    PPP     INFO     sent [IPCP Req addr=0.0.0.0 dns1=0.0.0.0 dns3=0.0.0.0]

Mar 29 00:53:51    PPP     INFO     sent [IPCP Req addr=31.205.xx.xx dns1=81.23.52.4 dns3=81.23.48.132]
Mar 29 00:53:51    PPP     INFO     rcvd [IPCP Ack addr=31.205.xx.xx dns1=81.23.52.4 dns3=81.23.48.132]
Mar 29 00:53:59    PPP     NOTICE     PPPoE connected

i find this part quite useful info but i do wonder if the info of basic info from like your account page could tell you if/when your last disconnect is am sure this "could be" done with out thales. what do you think @mirdragon ?

Quote:Looking at your account (if I've got the right one which I *think* I have) then I can see the following:

Mar 29 00:04:06 - we dropped the PPP session due to timeout i.e. we didn't receive any LCP echo responses from your CPE for 20 seconds.
Mar 29 01:53:49 - PPP session came back up when your CPE logged back in.

RE: no internet for 2-3 hours
I think it's likely your CPE hasn't updated to BST, it's still on (or was still on) GMT hence the hour difference between our logs and your logs.

We can potentially pull the connect/disconnect info from our systems and make it available through the My Account page however that would need to go in to our product development process so isn't likely to be something we can turn round quickly.

We have to get the first part though which is the service status updates from Digital Region. That's the hard part.

RE: no internet for 2-3 hours
As stated earlier, I'd cross referenced your disconnect with others around the same time and there was a higher than average within the same time frame as yours. We've opened a ticket with Thales and sent them the data we have so will see what they come back with. I've also opened an issue on your account and asked 1st Line to update you in a few hours when hopefully we'll have some more info.

Looking at the postcodes for the connections that were off for a similar period of time as you it looks like it was primarily an issue in Doncaster.

@aceado

Checked in with the folks down the street..Was off for about half a day without sync.

@jody-ASK4

The folks down my street is Barnsley (S72 8XD area)..PCP 18 so may not have been localised as such...anyway doesn't matter as they are connected again Smile

No problem, it's not always great at this end either Wink

Thales have initially responded to state they're not aware of anything happening so I've sent back some more data asking them to look again....

I can see at least 14 connections in Doncaster droppped out within 16 seconds of each other and stayed off for the same duration as yours so something was definitely amiss and it doesn't look like it was at our end as I've looked over all our PPPoE ACs and they were all serving other customers at the same time happily.

That sounds like it's probably to do with something different as this disruption was over a couple of hours and looks to have been sorted pre 4AM Smile

RE: no internet for 2-3 hours
so i got a call this morning telling me that the fiber was damage/broken some how (half asleep at the time lol) and with in the 2 hours they was able to fix it but it's still funny how thales refused to admit there was a problem and had to get more "proof" from ask4 this is something that really do bother me Confused

p.s. in life its always better to know something is going on then not to know as you could over think the problem
