Whats The Origin Deal You Have Been Offered?..Also Confusing Origin Stuff!
So we're not taking over @clifft's thread (sorry!), Here's a new one so we can

it looks like Origin has quickly just changed their website;

[Image: attachment.php?aid=236]

Notice how it now says + line rental?..It didn't when the site went initially live for my area.....Now how is I can get to this screen?

Says 1 month Broadband only rolling and then also says 12 months...contradictory or what!..also notice the initial shot says no install fee yet there's one added on to the order!

Alex, can you replicate that at all?

FAO Oliver as I know you and your team still read our forum...

* Fix your site
* Fix your packages to customers
* Stop insisting line rental!
* Deliver on callbacks
* Deliver on customer service

Well I've just had a call from Origin (only because I posted onto their facebook page) - they've offered me ADSL2 broadband without the phone for 9.99/month or 22.48/month if I transfer line in to them, both on 18 month contract.

Doesn't state 18 month contract on their site though does it..It's 12 month.

I called up this morning as a random shopper.

Said I couldn't get free ADSL on Cudworth exchange, offered me broadband at £9.99 if I took line rental on and paid it upfront. on 12 month contract.

I've been offered ADSL2+ at £9.99/month for 12 months on the Attercliffe exchange with no additional fees. Still mulling over what to do. Would have preferred to pay a little more per month ala Be* and have a monthly or 3 monthly contract to see how it pans out but I guess Origin want to protect themselves with income for at least 12 months in the event of issues.

To some extent I would say be slightly happy, you should have the added benefit of not having to mess about trying to get back on LLU from (Digital region) SLU, I have tried and failed with the MAC route and am having to do a Cease and Re-provide to get it working, so no internet for a while.

ISP: Ask4 DR Speed: 39.5Mbit /9.90Mbit Ping: 16ms to bbc.co.uk Line Length: ~400m

RE: Whats The Origin Deal You Have Been Offered?..Also Confusing Origin Stuff!
Ive rang up to cancel and been offered the following:

80/20 fibre, line rental, static ip, anytime phone £55 a month

Or

80/20 fibre, line rental, static ip, evening n weekend phone £45 a month

Declined as was offered 38/10 (doesnt really matter as got alu phone cables so will get 10/1 at a push), line rental and anytime phone from plus net for £35 a month.

Spent the last week trying to get origin to cancel my internet and cease my line. They kepp saying they are doing this but also keep emailing and ringing me offering my the same above deals to beat plusnet and keep me as their customer.

Getting annoying now!!!!

Craig

Reply to my thread on facebook when I said their site offer to new customers is better than the one they gave me over the phone:

"I'm afraid the mix up is the result of a bug we identified in the website yesterday. There are a few results that are still coming back incorrectly making it seem that certain products are available in areas where they are not. I promise you that if we couldn't offer something to you, we wouldn't be able to offer it to a new customer either. New customers who signed up online are being informed of the error too.

I'm sorry for the confusion, but this is why feedback from customers like you is really helpful and we're going to keep working to get everyone working perfectly!"

@ThEGr33k

I still say your best bet is to cease and reprovide and go on a monthly contract with someone.

@bullencraig

Looking at their Broadband+Phone offers page, which appears to have been updated...they aren'y really giving you a reason to stay...When did you request to get the cease done btw?..Was it more than 10 working days ago?...If so, I'd be going down Ofcom complaint route for failure to stick to their own terms.

@Zytron,

With your permission, could I post your Facebook post onto the forum?I can take your name out if you wish?....The reason I ask is because its now gone missing from their page as I commented on it (they don't like me ya see lol)...Luckily I took a screenshot it before they took it down (not quick enough Origin!)

@Spenceruk

First time i asked them to cease line was about a week or so ago. Sales guys said they would try and beat plus net's price and failed and its taken till today to finally get someone to send me an email saying they have started the cease on my line. Up till now its been "oh we will get the sales guys to ring you back" after every promise to cease my line lol.
