The Cellpipe console port
Anyone know what cable would connect to the console port on the Cellpipe? It looks like a PS/2 connector but with a pin missing (so a PS/2 connector wouldn't fit).

Just curious, not going to do anything with it. Most console cables I've seen are the usual serial or RJ45 type.

Not sure, but I'm sure I have one in my box of tricks. Time to make a mess I think

RE: The Cellpipe console port
just remember it's likely that you need more than a straight serial to serial type connection. If it is hooked upto the relevant pins you will need a DKU5 USB nokia clone cable in all likeliness

RE: The Cellpipe console port
I've always wondered what it was. At first I was thinking S-Video port?

RE: The Cellpipe console port
I notice that the publically available manual for the Cellpipe doesn't feature a console port at all.

RE: The Cellpipe console port
The Cellpipe manual I have is from 2008, so maybe it's out of date for the current model out there.

RE: The Cellpipe console port
Do we know how many revisions of the Cellpipe there is?

With it being an imported US model, would the manual be so different?

RE: The Cellpipe console port
Ah, so it's American, that explains why all the google image results for Cellpipe 7130 come back as a different looking product. My paper Cellpipe manual that came in the box points out the console port on one or two diagrams but doesn't give any information about it.

Spencer I also thought s-video but the pinout is slightly different Sad

RE: The Cellpipe console port
Where are you getting the American thing from? I must admit I thought they were an asian company, but a quick googling reveals they're a French company, but clearly a market leader as they've been dominating DSL for some time.

It's Alcatel Lucent Cellpipe 7130 - you might have seen the Bell branded Cellpipe googling about, but that's just a rebadged product I have no doubt.

RE: The Cellpipe console port
Looks as though its official name is a mini-din 5-pin connector:

Can't find any mini din 5 serial/console cables though. Maybe that's why they chose this particular 7130 Smile
