RE: DR Cabinet gone
The actual Digital Region Network fibre was sold to the Zayo Group from America. Hopefully like you say the cabling to the existing BT cabinet is still in the ground.

I have to agree that the Superfast South Yorkshire site is pants!

This. At my old DRL cabinet there is a seperate access point for the cabling, so my assumption is they will just plonk the new DSLAM where the old DRL cab was and hook it back up.

I'll take some pictures when I next go out for a walk, might as well do something to keep this thread alive! Smile

Sub-4mb "broadband" really does make you do odd things.

Not much happening near me regarding work by BT but I will keep checking for spray paint!! All the old DR cabinets nearby (3 of them) have gone now though. Keep us updated about your progress.

Well I shall live in hope Paddy as the speed I'm getting is just about fit for browsing the internet,anything else you can forget it.
I have even looked at mobile 4G which according to speedtests would give me over 12mb with O2.

Phil.

RE: DR Cabinet gone
Well, I just let out a little bit of wee in excitement. Roadworks.org has been updated, and I can see this planning application for my cab;

Description: SHEFFIELD PCP 81 - 308445 - STREET CABINET& POWER INSTALLATION. Excavate to lay approx 5m BT ducts,..
Works ref: BC005MU1WBDUK0IBL2FLRM01

(My bold)

Fibre is coming back! I am sure there is someone else on here in Norfolk Park on this cabinet, so together we can do a little dance.

Maybe worth other people checking their area? Obviously, lots going on but Superfastsouthyorkshire is continuing the great tradition of DRL by giving no information !

(However, I am enjoying my limited edition EE SIM, the 4G speeds are quite impressive here, upload a bit crap)
